About
Aim:
The primary goal in the development of Easy DialUp was to make the easist dialup client available for Linux so that my wife could login to the Internet without using commandline or going spastic. It started with the questeion ‘whats the best option for a dialup client for a person who doesnt want to know anything about a dial up client?’
Situation: My wife discovered chat(msn) anf thus a need use the Internet easily.
Problem:
I’ve been using Linux(Debian) as our home PC for ages but have allways been using pon(pppconfig). Now that my wife has just started to use the Internet for chat the problem arose of how was she going to connect to the ‘net.
Likely conversation pre Easy DialUp:
wife: I wanna use the net to chat with my friends
me: ok, just turn on the PC
wife: OK (boots up PC into Debian/GNOME)
wife: how the f*&k do you log onto the ‘net?
me: thinking “Good question!, whats the best option for a dialup client for a person who doesnt want to know anything about a dial up client.
i normally use pon via commandline but she go nuts if she has to use command line,
maybe kppp - its graphical but not consistent with GNOME and doesnt always connect - she’ll go nuts
maybe GNOME-PPP - doenst always connect - she’ll go nuts
….”
me: busily opens the terminal and starts pon and tails /var/log/messages
wife: Linux sucks, cant you just install Windows or something
me: whatever! Linux rocks
wife and me: start throwing stuff at each other
wife and me: both parties storm off…
Likely conversation with Easy DialUp:
wife: I ganna use the net to chat with my friends
me: cool
couple of hours later
wife: do you wanna use the net now im finished?
End Result of using Easy DialUp: see below, Everyones happy

I am looking for a dialer for network cards. Can your program be programed to do this? It seems nobody is changeing the internet much. I know something like this is possible.
thanks

Hi Marshall
EasyDialUp is just a front end for pon(linux ppp dialer), if pon can be a dialer for network cards(which i dont think it can) then EasyDialUp could be a front end for that.
Cheers
Justin
